Hi everyone!
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who came to see us in Japan!
We ended up giving away over 1,500 leaflets, keychains, and stickers. We also got to meet more than 150 backers during the event, and over 70 people had the chance to try FluxPose FBT in VR, with many others also testing the tracking outside of VR.
We had an amazing time, and it was extremely rewarding to see people so excited about the product we’ve been working on for years. We’d love to do more events like this in the future, but preparing for these kinds of events takes a looot of time, so no promises 🙂

A quick reminder: Please complete your backer survey
If you haven’t completed your backer survey yet, please do so as soon as possible. The survey will close on Monday 15th at 6pm CET!
We need your survey response to know your shipping address, kit configuration, and tax residency. Without it, we won’t have the information we need to send your kit!
Current component situation and IMU shortage
We also want to give you an update on the current component situation.
Right now, one of the main challenges we are facing is the availability of the IMUs used in every FluxPose tracker. These chips are currently affected by long lead times, partly because they are produced using the same TSMC manufacturing nodes that are also used by many other high-demand components across the electronics industry.
Because of this, the standard lead time for these IMUs is currently around one year. However, we have been working directly with the manufacturer to secure enough IMUs to fullfill the Kickstarter orders earlier than the normal lead time.
We are still waiting for their formal confirmation, but if everything is approved as expected, large-scale manufacturing would be able to start around September.
This is unfortunately later than originally planned, but it is still a significant improvement compared to the regular lead time, which would have pushed availability to around February.
We know this is not the kind of update anyone wants to hear, but we want to be transparent about the situation as early as possible. Production will start once we receive those chips, and in the meantime, we will continue moving forward with everything else that does not depend on them: molds, certification, logistics, production planning, test fixtures, packaging, and more.
We will keep you updated as soon as we receive more concrete information.
Injection molding update
On the mechanical side, we now have the first injection-molded samples, and they are looking great!

We are currently exploring different engraving options for the plastic parts, and more molds should be ready over the following weeks.
New office, manufacturing, and logistics space
Renovation work has also started on our new office, manufacturing, and logistics space.

This space will be where we handle the final assembly, testing, calibration, packing, and logistics work for FluxPose. The renovations are expected to take around two months, and we’ll share more as the space starts taking shape.
PCBA partner selection
Over the last two weeks, we’ve also been meeting with local EMS providers to find the best PCBA partner for FluxPose, with the goal of bringing PCB assembly to Europe.

Our goal is to have everything ready before all components arrive, including pre-production runs, process validation, and making sure the assembly partner is fully prepared for the larger production batches.
Even while we wait for the IMUs needed for volume production, there is still a lot of work we can do to reduce risk and make sure the rest of the production process is ready to go.
Thank you again for your patience, support, and trust. Seeing so many of you try FluxPose in Japan was a huge motivation boost for the whole team, and we’re now back to pushing everything forward.
